Position Title: KH Technical Service Manager
Report to : KH RA/TS Manager (China)
Location: Homebase (Shanghai and Beijing are preferred)
Overview:
Kemin Human Nutrition and Health is actively selling functional ingredients into the dietary supplement, functional food and conventional food markets and is actively working to expand its offerings.
The Technical Services Manager (TSM) is responsible and accountable for providing technical information and scientific support to current and potential customers to demonstrate the effectiveness of Kemin’s products. The TSM is also expected to establish long-term relationships with customers that support our position as science focused company.
The individual that will fill this role must be 1) an expert of providing technical services related to conventional foods or functional foods; 2) a scientific expert in food science and nutrition, better if also has immunology knowledge. Our desire is for this person to be viewed as a source of reliable information by the customer.
The TSM works in coordination with the Sales and Marketing teams to execute tactics within the strategic plan aimed at advancing Kemin’s health ingredients. Additional cross-functional collaboration will also be required as Kemin expands their portfolio. This role is China-focus and will be based in Beijing or Shanghai in principle. Extraordinary decisions are consulted with the manager and/or team for collaboration.
Responsibilities:
1.Work closely with the R&D, Regulatory, Sales, and Marketing in identifying opportunities through technical perspective, establishing/implementing the strategies/tactics to support business achievements.
2.Develop a depth of technical knowledge of Kemin products and have the ability to clearly communicate this knowledge throughout all levels of a multi-contact sales stages.
3.Represent Kemin in a professional and knowledgeable manner that provides technical services to customers and help drive the sales process.
4.Represent Kemin in a professional and knowledgeable manner at tradeshows, seminars/webinars and other events which showcase Kemin’s products and services.
5.Provide technical input for customer questions/questionnaires and work with sales/marketing to resolve customer technical issues related to Kemin products
6.Coordinate global/local resources for problem solving, food application etc., e.g. Customer Lab Service (CLS), r&D in Zhuhai lab, distributors, OEMs, etc.
7.Tailor-made technical information for use in sales/marketing and regulatory collateral that will be used with customers.
8.Create sales tools for local use with local language for support customers’ scientific & technical requirements, e.g. clinical summary; MoA; formulation guide; product decks, etc.
9.When new products are released from r&D or near the launch phase, the TSM is responsible for collaborating on activities needed to commercialize the product locally and organize the trainings or train the local commercial groups.
10.Support marketing team to create marketing collaterals.
11.Build relationships with key opinion leaders (academic and marketing) to advance support of Kemin ingredients.
12.Provide activity reports.
13.Other job-related duties as needed to support business efforts and to fulfill positive and proactive Sales efforts.
Qualifications:
1.Master (or above) of Food Science and Nutrition. Better if also has Immunology knowledge.
2.Must be energetic, business-minded with a broad scientific knowledge base who is able to set priorities and meet timetables leading to the achievement of growth goals.
3.Experience in the technical services field, project management, and the ability to present ideas effectively and communicate both scientific and business strategies to customers, peers.
4.A high degree of personal motivation, a desire to make an immediate contribution and possession of a distinct sense of urgency.
5.Demonstrated integrity and honesty in all aspects.
6.Effective written and oral communication skills with English
7.Strong presentation skills
8.Be willing to represent Kemin as a technical expert through on-line or off-line channels,with necessary traveling for f2f visit to serve customers up to 40% of the time.
